4 Chairs
'4 Chairs' is an ongoing sculpture that changes every time it is installed. When I assemble these broken discarded chairs, I find it difficult to ever create to same shape as I have before, which gives the outcome of a new sculpture every time. To represent every sculpture I make with these objects I project a video onto the current sculpture, which shows the makings of every sculpture that has ever been made by these chairs. I am interested in the making of the sculpture just as much as the sculpture itself, so I record me assembling them, whilst the previous makings are projected onto me and the current sculpture. This means that every time the sculpture is installed, another layer is added, so the projection will show the makings of every sculpture ever made by these chairs. I am interested in how the sculpture will be different every time it is exhibited, it represents the process and repetition of the work which I find really important to my practice.
